Position Summary
Position Summary:
The Senior Director of Academic Operations and Faculty Affairs provides strategic oversight and coordination across critical academic and administrative domains to ensure seamless execution of student services, academic program operations, and faculty support. While the role may not hold direct supervisory authority, it is pivotal in aligning efforts across key offices, including Admissions, the Registrar’s Office, Student Fiscal Affairs, and Finance, to support timely and accurate registration, loan processing, and disbursement. This individual will also steward the activities and budget of the Faculty Affairs Office.
Key Responsibilities:
Cross-Departmental Coordination
• Collaborate closely with Admissions, Registrar’s Office, degree programs, Finance, and Student Fiscal Affairs to monitor academic workflows and troubleshoot operational gaps.
• Ensure timely registration and accurate loan assessment and disbursement processes that support student success.
• Oversee the correct implementation of the new ERP (Workday) for students, working closely with the admissions director, registrar, student fiscal affairs, student account, and finance designees, and degree program leaders.
Academic Program Oversight
• Provide high-level coordination and process alignment across academic programs to promote efficiency, data accuracy, and compliance with institutional policies.
• Partner with program directors and department leads to support academic planning and delivery.
Faculty Affairs Stewardship
• Provide operational guidance for the Faculty Affairs Office, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
• Oversee office budgeting and resource allocation to support faculty recruitment, onboarding, and development.
Operational Effectiveness & Process Improvement
• Identify process inefficiencies and recommend streamlined, tech-forward solutions.
• Serve as a strategic liaison between academic and administrative units to foster integrated support models.
Governance & Reporting
• Support data-informed decision-making through regular reporting on academic operations and faculty affairs metrics.
• Help develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) across units under your purview.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in academic administration, student services, faculty affairs, or related functions in a higher education setting. Demonstrated experience coordinating complex projects or cross-functional academic operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree (or higher) in Higher Education Administration, Organizational Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
10+ years of experience in academic operations, preferably in graduate or health professions education. Experience leading or supporting enterprise system implementations (e.g., Workday Student), budget management, and academic process optimization.

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are encouraged to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment.
