The Manufacturing Coordinator ensures efficient and continuously improving manufacturing processes by bridging frontline operators, engineering, and support functions. Responsibilities include processing work requests (e.g., Jira), coordinating task prioritization, supporting tooling and equipment needs, and documenting completed work. Additionally, the role fosters a culture of accountability and improvement by facilitating feedback loops and process standardization across the production floor.
What You’ll Do:
Coordination:
+ Intake and process incoming requests (e.g., Jira tickets, manufacturing issue reports) and coordinate distribution to the appropriate technicians or teams.
+ Triage and escalate issues based on production impact, safety risks, and business priorities to the appropriate parties.
+ Coordinate and maintain a transparent prioritization system, helping the team focus on the most critical tasks first and ensuring deadlines are met as intended.
+ Attend production and cross-functional meetings to communicate work status.
+ Provide follow-up and status updates to requestors, ensuring clarity and closure on outstanding work.
Operational Support:
+ Provide hands-on support for manufacturing tasks, including equipment set-up, troubleshooting, and routine checks.
+ Act as a liaison with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure swift resolution of technical issues.
+ Coordinate and track recurring tasks or updates to equipment setups based on process changes.
Safety and Compliance:
+ Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
+ Conduct safety inspections and audits as requested.
+ Assist with onboarding and training of new technicians and provide refresher sessions on safety, tooling, and process updates.
Documentation and Reporting:
+ Ensure that all completed work, updates, and changes are captured in updated work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and visual aids.
+ Assist technicians in the coordination of the documentation lifecycle to maintain accuracy and clarity.
+ Coordinate version control and accessibility of process documentation, ensuring employees are working from the most current standards.
Continuous Improvement:
+ Identify process inefficiencies and bottlenecks, and facilitate initiatives to improve workflow, reduce waste, and boost productivity.
+ Seek feedback from operators and escalate opportunities to improve equipment and processes.
+ Support root cause investigations and corrective actions for recurring production or tooling issues.
What You’ll Bring:
Education and Experience:
+ Associate’s degree in design, engineering, manufacturing technology preferred.
+ Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. At least 1-2 years in a leadership role preferred
+ Relevant certifications in manufacturing, quality control, or safety are a plus.
Technical Skills:
+ Proficient in using manufacturing equipment and tools.
+ Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and safety standards.
+ Ability to read and write technical documents.
Soft Skills:
+ Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
+ Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
**Salary Range:** $21.00-$30.00/hr based on location, experience, and skills.

Work Environment:
+ Role is based in a manufacturing facility with regular exposure to shop floor activity (noise, moving machinery, tools).
+ Regular standing, walking, and lifting (up to 50 lbs) required.
+ Use of PPE and adherence to safety procedures required at all times
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities, however you may serve as a mentor for other technical staff within the organization.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Due to federal contract obligations, you must be a US Person in accordance with ITAR.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job you may occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and or arms to pull handles and push buttons and reach objects. Requirements may also include climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. You may need to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
