The Senior Principal Platform Architect is responsible for setting the strategic vision for the platform architecture, design and implementation of GEA’s Smart Appliances Cloud platform. This is a strategic role as GEA is focused on becoming the IOT leader and the best Smart Appliance company in the US. The candidate will develop the platform architecture blueprints for the Smart Appliances Cloud platform. This is a highly specialized role and requires an understanding of various technologies and partner integrations along with IOT, cloud solutions, and enterprise connected strategies at scale. They will strategize, understand and deploy complex technical solutions. Additionally, this role will partner with the Enterprise Architecture team, Embedded architects, Mobile Architects, Firmware teams, Electronics engineers, product managers, ecosystem partners and DT counterparts to leverage enterprise tools and processes to ensure a coherent architecture of large-scale enterprise-wide solutions. The candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that we create a flexible and scalable platform to enable new business models like subscription and ecosystem revenue streams.

How You'll Create Possibilities
+ Create and deliver short term and long-term platform capabilities blueprints and roadmaps
+ Partner closely with business stakeholders to develop these capabilities and work closely with the stakeholders in the firmware, embedded, electronics, mobile, and DT teams
+ Responsible for coaching and mentoring developers on the core platform engineering team
+ Provide strategic technical leadership and identify opportunities to advance team members
+ Identify necessary skills and capabilities within the platform team and develop necessary skills chart
+ Responsible for platform systems architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance
+ Conceive and implement innovative IOT platform features to support the connected strategy of GEA
+ Partner with business counterparts across functional areas to strategize and implement platform features to enable rapid connectivity and adoption of connected appliances
+ Identify pain points and develop solutions using the platform approach to deliver value to the functional users
+ Stay abreast of industry-leading cloud architecture patterns and practices as it relates to IOT and connected strategies
+ Develop a distributed architecture that enables GEA to partner with other Haier groups of companies like F&P & Mabe
+ Provide technical leadership to drive effective and efficient project completion
+ Take ownership of end-to-end platform architecture
+ Develop and refine solid architecture processes around sequencing and diagramming requirements
+ Develop POCs as necessary to drive ideation around new and existing initiatives
+ Contribute to the full life cycle strategy for the Smart Home Solutions IOT Platform development, testing, deployment, and operation
+ Engage with strategic vendors as necessary to understand architectural roadmaps and their potential benefit to the Smart Home Solutions cloud platform capabilities and offerings
What You'll Bring to Our Team
+ Master's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
+ Fifteen (15) years of prior relevant experience in roles of increasing responsibility within software engineering, infrastructure, architecture, and design.
+ 6 plus years of experience leading enterprise-level programs and has a reputation of driving change within the organization
+ Previous experience with driving software development.
+ Experience both with Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Ability to leverage, fast track to deliver with a sense of urgency.
+ Cloud Architecture experience with public cloud vendors.
+ Industrial background or understanding of systems and processes in the plants.
+ Analytics experience with large amounts of real-time data and methodologies for data mining and creating the valuable business decision.
