Job Description

LRS Consulting Services is seeking a Business Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity with our client in the west suburbs of Chicago, IL!

The Business Analyst will:

+ Work with the Business to identify requirements and think critically about what will make it successful; write user stories that effectively communicate the Business’ requirements and that are easily consumed by software development teams.

+ Analyze application back-end and API integrations, data flows and manipulations, and EDI mappings.

+ Attend and lead Business stakeholder meetings; provide project status reporting to management; assist with testing scenarios and validate results.

+ Create deliverables such as process flows, wireframes, mockups and functional prototypes to effectively communicate design strategies and detailed interaction behaviors.

+ Prepare and deliver client presentations.

+ Advocate on behalf of Business to IT, and advocate on behalf of IT to Business.

+ Become a Subject Matter Expert on a variety of packages and custom business.

+ Go beyond just reading and understanding information, to making sense of it, and finding patterns for improvement.

+ Support business applications. Troubleshoot and resolve applications issues.

+ Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

+ Bachelor's Degree in IT, statistics, computer science, mathematics, information management, or a related field preferred.

+ Minimum 3 years recent experience in Business Analysis with at least 6 years relevant IT experience overall.

+ Experience in all phases of software and testing lifecycles.

+ Experience writing clear acceptance criteria to a testable level.

+ Good understanding of relational databases, database structures and design, and data management.

+ Good SQL knowledge, with experience writing investigative queries, being able to step into and understand existing queries, and a firm understanding of multi-table joins.

+ Good knowledge of APIs - including preferably knowledge of JSON notation, API objects, API endpoints (incl., how they're called, and what developers need to know to write them)

+ Experience leading or participating in all Agile meetings including: sprint planning, sprint grooming, review, demo, stand-up, and retrospective sessions.

+ Experience working with software development tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.

+ Strong whiteboarding skills.

+ Strong investigative, analytical skills, and interpersonal skills.

+ Candidates must be local to the Chicago Metro area

+ Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer.

Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
