SUMMARY:Building capacity of staff who work within special education in order for them to provide high quality programming, instruction, and professional practices for students with disabilities. Provide knowledge, guidance, and support to building level administrators and Student Support Services staff for students with educational disabilities in the area of professional development, programming, and service delivery to increase student achievement. Provide assistance and support to the student support services leadership team in the development, implementation and evaluation of department and district goals.

Job Tasks Descriptions
1. Under the supervision of a SSS Coordinator, collaborate with, coach, and build capacity of special education teams in developing appropriate opportunities for students with disabilities, including assessments to identify pathways of interest, strengths, and areas of needed growth to develop meaningful goals, services, and supports.
2. Assist the student support services coordinators and directors in oversight and monitoring IEP Compliance, IEP Content, and timely completion of IEP-related tasks.
3. Plan for and implement professional development opportunities for instructional and related services staff regarding programming for students with disabilities by reviewing and evaluating instructional practices and programming
4. Collaborate with other district members, community services, outside providers, school based teams, administrators, and problem solving teams.
5. Assist in supporting school teams with data collection and analysis to support programming for students with disabilities (academic, behavioral, etc.).
6. Provide individualized, job-embedded coaching opportunities for staff regarding instructional and behavioral best practices and resource implementation
7. Recommend and monitor expenditures of student support services supplies, materials, and equipment.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching students with disabilities.
- Experience in a leadership role is preferred.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:
- Criminal background check required for hire.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid Colorado Educator License from the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) within 30 days of hire.
- Colorado principal license preferred.
SALARY INFORMATION (FOR EXTERNAL CANDIDATES):
All salary placement on our Certified Salary schedule (https://www.adams12.org/our-district/careers/teach) is dependent on the employees’ education and/or work experience. Certified/licensed employees will be granted one (1) year for each full year of contractual and/or work experience up to a maximum of ten (10) years, which includes in-district and out-of-district contractual teaching and/or work experience. Responsibility for verification of outside experience shall rest with the individual employee.
