Position Description
TheDepartment of Political Science (https://www.polisci.txst.edu/) invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level to teach required and elective graduate courses in Legal Studies. The Department awards the Master of Arts degree.
Applicants must be able and willing to teach required and elective undergraduate and graduate courses in public administration day and evening courses in San Marcos and Round Rock, Texas.

Required Qualifications
+ Earned Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) degree from an ABA accredited U.S. law school.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience as a licensed attorney.
+ An active license to practice law in Texas in good standing.
+ Willingness and ability to teach courses offered as day and evening classes covering the areas of litigation, legal technology, and legal research and writing.
+ Demonstrated potential in scholarly research and publication in the field of law.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Collegiate teaching experience in a legal studies or paralegal program, preferably at the graduate-school level or in a program approved by the American Bar Association.
+ Teaching experience in one or more of the following areas: litigation, legal research, legal writing, including legal citation, family law, real estate law, contract law, or another area of law specifically covered by the Program’s curriculum.
+ Demonstrated scholarly research and publication in the field of law; 4) Recent experience as a licensed attorney, including experience working with paralegals, in one or more of the following areas, preferably in Texas: litigation, family law, real estate law, contract law, and estates and trusts.
+ Demonstrated ability to work with college students.
+ Demonstrated proficiency with law office technology, including electronic discovery.
+ Effective interpersonal skills.
