Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking a talented Land Survey CAD Technician to join our Community Development team in Winston Salem, North Carolina. This position is a hybrid work model with a focus on NCDOT Location & Surveys. Your technical knowledge and team-focused approach will enhance our mission to set the standard in our field for exceptional client service and professional excellence, as we grow to better serve clients, and communities and provide greater opportunities for employees.
Your Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be performing all aspects of project development from directing field data collection to finished mapping. Project development includes scoping projects and preparing proposal documents for Stantec. The Land Survey CAD Technician will direct field crew operations by planning daily schedules and determining methods of data capture. This individual will assist field crews as needed, and schedule will allow. This position may require some overnight travel, and the selected candidate will be asked to travel with the field crew or individually as needed. This individual will be responsible for producing mapping and digital data to clients in MICROSTATION V8i/ORD, and AUTOCAD.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
+ Knowledge in MicroStation V8i/ORD to NCDOT Location and Survey Standards.
+ Knowledge of NCDOT Location & Survey Standards.
+ Working Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Software, TDS and Carlson data collection software are preferred.
+ Proficiency in operating conventional, robotic total stations and GPS surveys to NCDOT Location and Survey Standards are preferred.
+ Working knowledge of 3D scanning and Leica GPS Software is a plus.
+ Working knowledge of field to finish production of ALTA Surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking for civil engineering projects is a plus.
Education and Experience
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CAD Technician with knowledge of field work required.
+ A bachelor’s or associate’s degree in Geomatics is a plus.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
