    Minimum Qualifications:

    Graduation from a Licensed VocationalNurse programand licensure/permit as avocational nursein the state of Texas. No experiencerequired. Current BLSrequired.

    Job Summary:

    Toprovide direct nursingcare toan assignedgroup of patients andperformsnursing procedures within the scope of their education anddemonstratedabilities.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Valid Texas Driver’s license andability to travel via automobile.

    + Two (2) years of experience in nursing, public Health, case management or infectious disease.

    + Two (2) years of experience in a medical clinical setting.

    + Vision and hearing screening certification CPR certified.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and ability to use the Outlook, Word and Excel functions.

    Job Duties:

    + Provides direct nursing care to assigned patients.

    + Participates in assessing, planning,implementing,and evaluating the nursing care given

    + Performs admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.

    + Uses the nursing plan of care in dailyassignments, able toreview, and,under supervision,modifythe plan of care.

    + Demonstrates ability toobserveand record the signs, symptoms, and behaviors including the physiologicalstatus ofpatients, presentsproposed revisionof interventions,and desiredoutcomes

    + Delivers the designatednursing interventions toassignedpatients thatare consistent with the stated medical plan of care.

    + Notifiesappropriatenursingandmedical staffof changesinpatient status;recognizes patientcare priorities, multidisciplinary treatment plans, and potential patient care crises.

    + Follows physician's orders in the delivery of nursing care.

    + Maintains patient's privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times.

    + Safely and properly administers medications and treatments.

    + Executes written physician's orders for assigned patients.

    + Assembles equipment and supplies for various diagnostic or treatment procedures in the specialty service area; performs orassistsothers with procedures or treatments.

    + Adheres to required infection control, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques in the delivery of patient care.

    + Documents nursing care in all assigned patient records.

    + Adheres to internal controlsestablishedfor department.

    + Performs related duties asrequired.

    Knowledge/Skills:

    + Knowledge of professional Nursing theory and process, including cultural, social, and economic forces in family, community and group dynamics.

    + Knowledge of Texas State Board of Nursing Practice Rules and Regulations

    + Knowledge of Public Health Principles, practices, epidemiology, disease prevention and health promotion

    + Knowledge of clinic/office operations.

    + Skill in assessment of clients with complex health problems.

    + Skill in basic computer data input through database programs, word processing and internet.

    + Ability to maintain current CPR certification

    + Ability to perform basic nursing skills

    + Ability to interact and maintain effective working relationships and collaboration with public, local officials, physicians, and local agency personnel.

    + Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written format to individuals, groups and communities.

    + Ability to demonstrate independent judgment in appraising clinical situations and correctly interpret findings.

    + Ability to comprehend and implement program goals, policies, and procedures.

    Work Schedule:

    40 hours per week.Travel requirements and possible working hours other than 8-5 are applicable and must be able to accommodate.

    Salary Range:

    Actual salarycommensuratewith experience.
