TheIdaho Department of Insurance (DOI) (https://doi.idaho.gov/) is searching for a Rates & Forms Supervisor for our downtown Boise location. In this position you will play an important role in our Market Oversight Bureau protecting the citizens of Idaho by making sure insurance companies’ contracts, rate structures and plans are in compliance, and in language which is fair and protects consumers. You and your team also review rate filings with the objective of ensuring rates meet Idaho standards.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
+ Utilize in-depth insurance knowledge to review insurance contract language, rules, and rates for clarity and compliance with Idaho law.
+ Move easily between big picture thinking and analyzing relevant details in insurance contracts to ensure compliance and to recommend changes.
+ Communicate clearly with interested parties regarding Idaho laws and regulations to effectively explain contract language or rate structure concerns, and agency decisions.
+ Facilitate building relationships of trust with team members, insurance company staff, and other stakeholders.
+ Supervise section by leading, training, engaging team members, and managing the section's budget.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Experience using computer applications software for communication, collecting and reviewing data and generating reports.
+ Considerable knowledge of insurance contracts and coverages regarding property, casualty, health, life and/or disability.
+ Good knowledge of insurance rating practices and procedures.
+ Good knowledge of supervisory techniques.
Desired Candidates will have the ability to:
+ Supervise staff and demonstrate leadership qualities with knowledge of hiring and training practices;
+ Utilize technical writing and communication strategies;
+ Explain complex information related to policies and procedures;
+ Conduct fact-finding inquiries.
