Description We are looking for a dedicated Benefits Customer Service Associate to assist employees and retirees with health benefits during the City’s annual Open Enrollment period. This is a contract position based in Baltimore, Maryland, offering a structured work schedule and a collaborative office environment. The role includes a two-week paid training session, followed by active support during the enrollment period, with the possibility of an extension.
Responsibilities:
• Provide exceptional customer service to assist City employees and retirees in navigating health benefits during the Open Enrollment period.
• Accurately enter and update benefits information into the City’s online system, ensuring data integrity.
• Handle inquiries about health insurance plans, eligibility requirements, and Medicare options with professionalism and clarity.
• Manage high volumes of calls and interactions in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Utilize the Workday platform and Microsoft Office Suite to perform tasks efficiently and effectively.
• Resolve customer concerns with tact and diplomacy, ensuring a positive experience.
• Maintain organized records and files related to benefits administration.
• Participate in a comprehensive two-week training program to learn system processes and benefits details.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless operations during the enrollment period.
• Lift and manage materials weighing up to 20 pounds as needed for office tasks. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent certification, with at least two years of office support experience, preferably in health insurance or customer service.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computerized data entry systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle challenging customer interactions professionally.
• Familiarity with healthcare terminology, medical insurance plans, and Medicare eligibility is advantageous.
• Experience using the Workday system is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to attend all scheduled workdays during the six-week contract period, including the mandatory training.
