Description
Our client near the greenway plaza area is looking for a billing specialist with construction experience to join their team on a contract to hire basis. In this role, you will do the following:
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and send accurate invoices to clients based on project progress, contract terms, and approved change orders.
- Coordinate with project managers and the accounting team to verify all billing information is complete and correct.
- Track and reconcile payments received, ensuring accurate records in the accounting system.
- Manage the collection process, following up with clients on past-due accounts and resolving any billing discrepancies.
- Prepare detailed billing reports for internal review, including outstanding receivables, progress payments, and other related financial metrics.
- Maintain and organize all billing-related documents, such as contracts, change orders, etc.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes related to billing and receivables.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with company policies and client contracts.
- Stay updated on industry standards and best practices in construction billing and accounting.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience:2+ years of billing experience, preferably in the construction industry or a similar field.
-Skills:
- Strong knowledge of construction billing, including AIA documents, progress billing, retainage, and change orders.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Textura, Sage, Procore, or similar construction management systems).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Certifications: Certification in construction accounting or related field is a plus.
