Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Brownfield, Texas. Our organization manages a diverse portfolio of entities, including non-profits, rental properties, service businesses, and an insurance agency. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead accounting operations and contribute to strategic financial growth, with potential for career advancement into a Chief Financial Officer role.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare accurate monthly and annual financial statements for multiple entities, ensuring precision and compliance.
• Oversee daily accounting tasks, including payroll, accounts receivable/payable, bank reconciliations, and transaction management using QuickBooks Online.
• Complete month-end close processes by established deadlines, maintaining efficiency and accuracy.
• Manage tax planning, filing, and compliance for all entities, collaborating with external tax advisors and auditors.
• Provide financial insights to aid in strategic decision-making, including private equity opportunities and acquisitions.
• Build and lead future accounting and finance teams as the organization expands.
• Partner with leadership to enhance operational efficiency across various business units, including non-profits and rental properties.
• Deliver financial analysis to support new ventures, such as the potential insurance agency acquisition.
• Align financial practices with the company’s ethical and faith-based values, ensuring accountability and trust.
• Support the transition and integration of financial operations during periods of growth or acquisition. Requirements • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online is preferred, though training can be provided.
• A background in public accounting or prior experience as a Controller is strongly desired.
• Minimum of three years of accounting experience, with a proven ability to manage operations independently.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to handle complex financial operations.
• Strong communication abilities to effectively collaborate across multiple entities and teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing business environment, adapting to new challenges and opportunities.
• Demonstrated commitment to ethical financial practices aligned with company values.
