CDI Data Analyst
Position Summary
At Stony Brook Medicine, our CDI Data Analysts are valuable members of our team. Reporting to the Supervising Data Analyst for Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI), ultimately reporting up to the Director of CDI, the Clinical Documentation Data Analyst will provide support to the Clinical Documentation and Coding divisions. The Entry-Level Clinical Documentation Data Analyst will be responsible for data entries to pertinent dashboards, collecting & analyzing data, identifying trends, and presenting results of their findings to management.
Duties of a CDI Data Analyst may include the following but are not limited to:
+ Collect data from a variety of sources to update reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
+ Manage ongoing MS Excel & Access databases and Tableau dashboards.
+ Analyze data using statistical techniques to identify trends and insights.
+ Maintain data integrity and accuracy within databases they access.
+ Summarize results utilizing graphical and tabular data presentations.
+ Present analyses of data projects, explain trends and areas of opportunity to CDI management.
+ Develop dashboards, graphs, and tabular type reports for coding that generate monthly, quarterly, yearly and as needed reports for Coding and Revenue Cycle leadership.
+ Generate reports from various data systems as requested by Management.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Management, Finance, or Data Analysis related field such as Mathematics/Statistical Analysis, Health Informatics, Computer Science/Systems with 2 years experience in data management, analysis, quantitative report development and production.
+ At least one(1) year of experience with MS Office, including MS Excel and MS Access and data visualization tools (Ex: Tableau)
+ Basic knowledge of programming languages like Python, SQL, R
+ Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Must be detail oriented and possess strong critical thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience in data management, analysis, and quantitative report development and production, preferably in a healthcare setting.
+ CCS, CPC, RHIT, RHIA or CHDA.
+ Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding principles.
+ Experience with 3M ICD-10-CM and CPT coding software.
+ Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

* + Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
+ Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position is $83232 - $93636 / year.
The above salary range represents SBUH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate’s validated years of comparable experience. Any efforts to inflate or misrepresent experience are grounds for disqualification from the application process or termination of employment if hired.
Some positions offer annual supplemental pay such as:
+ Location pay for UUP full-time positions ($3400)
