POSITION: Funeral Service Education Director/Instructor, FT (12-month)
Clarkesville Campus
Description
The Director will be responsible for providing guidance and instruction necessary to provide students with the competencies essential to the Funeral Service Education program. The Director will conduct classes using a variety of learning experiences and activities that include lecture and lab materials. Instructional duties include course design and development of lesson plans, instruction, assessment, and evaluation with efficient maintenance of classroom records. Duties also include student advisement, participation in college committees, and participation in professional development. The Director is responsible for assessing student learning outcomes and program outcomes; coordinating the programs recruitment, enrollment, and retention activities; and assisting with programmatic accreditation and budgeting.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college/university or must earn a master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university within five years of the appointment date. Must be a graduate of a funeral service education institution accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education. Must hold a valid Georgia Funeral Directors License. Must hold a valid Georgia Embalmers license. Three years paid work experience in-field within the past five years. E
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
Salary
Salary commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include retirement, paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program.
