    Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Health and Safety Specialist who will be responsible for coordinating plans and improvements, and overseeing the operational control of an Aerospace site with a strong emphasis on identifying hazards and specialized HSE aspects.

    Responsibilities

    + Coordinate plans, improvements, and operational control of the site with a focus on hazards and specialized HSE aspects.

    + Ensure compliance with legal, corporate, and other interested parties’ requirements.

    + Provide support and advice to operational areas.

    + Monitor compliance with the HSE Policy on site.

    + Manage the HSE Management System.

    + Keep the HSE legal requirements matrix updated for correct compliance and monitoring.

    + Carry out corresponding procedures with government agencies regarding HSE.

    + Guarantee adequate compliance and development of operational control, mainly on topics such as sustainability, chemical substances, ergonomics, change management, hazardous work, and emergency management.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in health and safety regulations.

    + Experience with OSHA 30 and safety training.

    + Knowledge in EHS, environmental health, and OSHA safety.

    + Ability to manage safety programs, water quality, and sustainable design.

    + Expertise in HSE Management and HSE Legal framework.

    + Understanding of chemical substances, explosive atmospheres, asbestos, and hazardous work.

    + Skills in industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, chemical safety, and hazardous waste management.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Familiarity with HSE Legal Framework applicable to the site.

    + Knowledge of international legal references and standards.

    + Experience with HSE change management.

    + Proficiency in event investigation methods such as 5W's+H, 8D's, and root cause analysis.

    + Technical knowledge of personal protective equipment, emergency equipment, and operational machinery.

    + Experience with Integrated Management Systems like ISO14001, ISO45001, and ISO9001.

     

    Work Environment

     

    The position operates within an ITAR controlled environment with a shift schedule from 6 am to 2:30 pm.

    This is a Contract position based out of Carson, California.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

    Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
