Job Title: Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team and ensure the efficient and timely production of high-quality products. The role involves setting up jobs, providing training to operators, performing daily maintenance, and making program adjustments as needed. The successful candidate will operate machinery, monitor machine performance, collaborate with other departments, and maintain tooling inventory according to company standards.
Responsibilities
+ Set up jobs to meet production requirements promptly and effectively.
+ Train other operators and provide guidance.
+ Perform daily maintenance and make necessary program adjustments.
+ Operate machinery and monitor its performance, adjusting feed and temperature as needed.
+ Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure quality production.
+ Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure specifications are met using precision instruments.
+ Maintain tooling inventory and ensure department organization meets company standards.
+ Suggest improvements to the production process and document all changes while communicating with coworkers and supervisors.
+ Perform secondary bench operations such as inspection, de-burring, and cleaning of parts.
+ Promptly raise machining or quality issues with the operations manager.
+ Maintain good attendance and punctuality, work independently with minimal supervision, and follow through on commitments.
+ Approach others with professionalism and tact, accept responsibility, and treat everyone with respect.
+ Assist around the shop as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in CNC programming and operation, including mastercam and mill.
+ Minimum 2 years of experience as a machine operator, including setup and entry-level programming.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in troubleshooting or mechanical maintenance is advantageous.

Work Environment
You will be part of a dynamic environment focused on manufacturing, assembly, finishing, and packaging of products. The role requires setup and programming of Y-Axis machines, lathes, mills, and other machinery. You will be responsible for programming at the controller, operating machines, performing maintenance and repairs, and maintaining a clean work area.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Antioch, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
