Position Overview:
Responsible for implementing capital improvement strategies across multiple markets and entities in accordance and alignment with the needs and priorities of market, system and service-line leaders. With senior market, strategy and service line leaders develops funding targets, target in-service dates and cashflow analyses in the service of Sutter’s overall strategic vision. Successful development and execution of these strategies has a direct impact on Sutter’s overall performance at the local, market and system level. Leads a management team that interfaces with market and service line leaders and manages teams across multiple entities. That management team manages staff that run capital projects through validation, design, construction and opening for those markets and entities. Is the primary point of contact for these projects for senior market, system and service line leaders. Capital improvement strategies include. new development, facility expansion, renovation, and retrofitting. The projects within these strategies range from small scale administrative space renovations to large scale high complexity hospital projects. Is accountable for accurate and timely reporting on projects to market, strategy and service line leaders. Is accountable for ensuring all work for scope, budget and schedule including the coordination, monitoring, and reporting on design and construction activities is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the facility & property services (FPS) process and controls manual (PCM). Is accountable for ensuring the administration of consultant and construction agreements and the maintenance of design and construction schedules, construction management, and owner representative responsibilities are carried out in compliance with the PCM. Acts as a liaison between all internal and external stakeholders.

+ Bachelor's: Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
+ 15 years recent relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE** **:
+ Verbal and written communication skills, solid interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities and work group facilitation skills. must demonstrate human resource management skills including the ability to attract, retain, motivate, develop and manage performance of staff.
+ Demonstrated negotiation skills balancing attention to details with an ability to operate strategically.
+ Ability to work with and influence senior leaders across more than one entity, market or service line. Ability to support the development of business cases and work on solutions to complex business challenges.
+ Demonstration of leadership ability, including the management and delegation of appropriate tasks to technical and non-technical support staff.
+ Consultative skills to gather needs and translate requests into potential solutions.
+ Client relationship management skills to maintain positive relations between FPS and entity, market and system level senior leadership.
+ Critical thinking and analytical skills to support complex problem solving within capital project delivery in support of market, service line and system strategies.
+ Has broad health care design and construction knowledge to support the financial and care delivery goals of Sutter Health,
+ Understands the major contract forms in capital project delivery, has significant experience with integrated project delivery such as design-build contracts and Sutter’s own Integrated Form of Agreement.
+ Must be familiar with health care construction building codes and regulations, space programming, cost estimating, project approval processes, and design and construction processes.
+ Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills in the delivery of health care facilities including medical office buildings, acute care general hospitals, outpatient surgery centers and psychiatric hospitals from programming through facility activation.
+ Knowledge includes the understanding of the facility design on staff performance and efficiencies that support the business goals of the institution, as well as current trends in healthcare facility development and facility designs impacting patient care and operating efficiency.
+ Must be familiar with the State of California building approval processes including OSHPD, the State Fire Marshall and municipal discretionary approvals, as well as TJC regulation.
+ Familiarity with computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, & Outlook.

Pay Range is $100.43 to $160.69 / hour
_The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package._ __
