Endpoint Engineering and Development is seeking a **Solutions Engineer** to join us on a mission to elevate the experience of our systems and enrich the lives of the Stanford University community. In this position, you will:
+ Lead the continued evolution of our Jamf environment and spearhead the strategic migration to Microsoft Intune.
+ Architect and execute complex technical solutions by partnering with developers and engineers on projects ranging from targeted scripts to sophisticated, cross-functional implementations.
+ Administer cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP) to support and enhance our endpoint management services.
+ Present to different audiences, from end-users to senior leadership, on the status of endpoint management projects and initiatives.
+ Achieve outstanding results in support of our mission while modeling the team’s values.

EED offers software development, systems engineering, and product management. EED is part of University Information Technology (UIT), a 700-person strong organization supporting 100+ services. Minimum requirements
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Expert-level experience in designing, implementing, supporting, and planning Jamf rollouts in a large-scale enterprise organization.
+ Ability to provide strategic guidance and execution for Microsoft Intune..
+ Expert-level knowledge of macOS and advanced knowledge of Windows environments, including hardware, software, and security hardening.
+ Advanced proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell, with desirable experience in modern development languages like Swift.
+ Deep understanding of enterprise networking concepts, including security, directory services (AD, OD), and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure).
+ Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Azure, Intune, and Azure Active Directory, including a strong understanding of Identity Provider (IdP) configurations and integrations, such as Shibboleth or other SAML-based solutions.
+ Advanced knowledge of endpoint security concepts and best practices, with experience securing devices in environments requiring additional security, such as government or financial sectors.
+ Experience with CI/CD tools for build automation and deployment.
+ Direct experience developing and managing middleware solutions and supporting infrastructure.
+ Proven ability to work independently on complex projects and collaboratively within a team, with a strong aptitude for training, presenting, and mentoring others on technical topics.
+ Experience using ticketing systems such as Jira and ServiceNow to provide excellent customer support.
Core duties include:
+ Design, build, and maintain the operating system environment for macOS and Windows endpoints, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security.
+ Develop custom applications, tools, and middleware to solve unique endpoint management challenges and automate complex workflows.
+ Serve as a subject matter expert on Jamf, providing strategic direction for the evolution of the service and creating best-practice documentation.
+ Lead the design and configuration of endpoint and network security, ensuring alignment with university-wide security standards.
+ Architect and configure scalable solutions encompassing network, server, and client devices for university initiatives.
+ Develop automated solutions for the installation, modification, and management of software, utilities, and workstation environments to maintain an "Out of Box" user experience.
+ Compare, evaluate, and implement new technologies, and integrate systems into the computing environment.
+ Resolve complex system problems and provide consultation or training to support personnel and end-users.
+ Facilitate vendor relationships and act as a liaison with various departments across campus.
