    Job Description Summary

    Drives initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the Quality function and interfaces with other functions within the T&O and D&S organizations to provide effective coordination of metrics, dashboards, functional processes, Flight Deck roll out, DMS, and cross-functional initiative coordination across the Turbine Airfoils Quality department. Owns/influences budgets and operating plans and may also be focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. The role has significant autonomy within the operational area or a segment within a larger business unit. The role may have a major impact on the Turbine Airfoil Part Family . High levels of evaluative judgment and operational acumen are required to achieve outcomes.

     

    The job also strongly encourages deletion, modification, and improvement of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

     

    Knowledge of airfoil manufacture, design, and materials is not necessary but strongly desired in order to understand the customers of this role and their priorities. This role will report directly to the Turbine Airfoils Quality Executive Leader

    Job Description

    Roles and Responsibilities

    + Drive operational discipline to achieve world-class performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC), ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and values

    + Chair department DMS and operations reviews to monitor progress, proactively identify risks, and lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts to ensure sustained performance improvement

    + Develop, implement, and continuously refine policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices

    + Lead and manage a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation while providing strategic guidance and support

    + Develop and deliver visual Visual Management that provide actionable insights into operational and strategic outcomes, enabling informed decision-making at all levels

    + Drive decision optimization of SQDC, operational efficiency, and outcome attainment, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives

    + Holds the Section accountable via establishing and enforce Standard Work practices, ensuring robust operating rhythms and processes that promote knowledge sharing, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the organization

    + Cultivate strategic collaborations with key stakeholders, including CESE, D&S and T&O, to prepare for future demand and prioritize critical initiatives such as testing and validation

    + Partner with the Section Leadership and Flight Deck resources to identify, launch, and execute transformational process changes, leveraging lean principles to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence

    + Lead MORs and WORs, represent Turbine Airfoils Quality in W/MORs as required, and mentor the team on Flight Deck practices, including action plans, daily management, and problem-solving

    + Demonstrated expertise in defining and executing strategic initiatives to enhance organizational operational performance

    + Strategically identify and prioritize productivity initiatives to maximize impact and drive results

    Required Qualifications

    + Master's degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering, Operations Management, or Equivalent (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 8 years of experience in Turbine Airfoils and/or Operations

    + US Person. (Refer to Internal Revenue Code section 7701(a)(31) for the definition of a US Person)
