Living Resources is seeking a full-time Art Gallery & Creative Project Manager to oversee our art gallery operations, creative projects, and community programming within our Day Services department in Guilderland. This role blends art management, instruction, and community building, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) while advancing the gallery’s presence within the broader community.
What your day will involve:
+ Oversee daily operations of the Guilderland art gallery, ensuring an organized, welcoming environment for artists and visitors.
+ Hire, train, schedule, and supervise gallery art instructors, staff, and volunteers.
+ Lead and assist with printing, matting, and framing of artwork for gallery displays and community shows.
+ Instruct art classes for groups and individuals within and outside of the IDD community, including paint-and-sip events and community classes.
+ Serve as a community and agency liaison, networking with local organizations, committees, and agency partners to expand gallery visibility and programming.
+ Support and help organize special events, art shows, and community engagement opportunities.
+ Develop and implement a long-term business plan for the Sheehan Farm Project.
+ Collaborate with other agency programs (Day Community Opportunities Program, Pre-Voc, Job Coaching) to support the gallery and additional creative projects.
+ Perform market research, financial analysis, and strategic planning to strengthen program sustainability.
+ Complete additional duties as assigned to support the art program’s mission.
Requirements
Required:
+ Minimum of1 year of management experience.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Background in art, including instruction, printing, matting, and framing.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
+ Strong project management skills with financial and strategic planning experience.
+ Market research and analysis experience.
+ Valid NYS driver’s license.
+ Ability to complete all required training upon hire.
Preferred:
+ Bachelor’s degree (Human Services, Art, Business, or related field).
+ Experience in business, marketing, and sales.
+ Familiarity with the local art community.
Physical Requirements:
+ Ability to lift, bend, stand, and participate in a variety of activities.
+ Ability to carry a backpack weighing 8-10 pounds during outdoor activities.
+ Ability to assist participants with vehicle transfers, including those using wheelchairs and walkers.
Salary Description
$30 hour
