In this role…
You will evaluate the current performance and develop and implement the future state of material handling methods which support production, evaluate automation applications, with goal to reduce enterprise cost and increase profitability. You will collaborate with supply chain, manufacturing, and engineering teams to leverage data-driven methods to optimize space utilization, line-side delivery, and inventory control.
What You’ll Do…
+ Drive development and/or installation of material handling direct and indirect labor standards and methods at Vehicle Assembly Powertrain and Stamping Plants. Identify current and optimized labor scenarios including efficient manpower utilization with line balancing for material handling.
+ Conduct Ergonomic Job evaluations and implement material handling workflow designs that meet safety and ergonomic requirements.
+ Analyze problem process constraints and conduct equipment cycle time analysis.
+ Recommend the most efficient distribution of material handling manpower and analyze plant methods and standards.
+ Prepare or direct the preparation of cost estimates of new or revised methods and standards.
+ Review proposed changes in plant layout and processes that impact material handling delivery methods, routing, etc.
+ Analyze production and non-production operations to determine those requiring study and develop new or improved material handling methods and standards.
+ Conduct time and motion/MODAPTS studies and review employee proposals and suggestions.
+ Develop cycle line layouts for current and future models using Auto-CAD:
+ Lead job methodization and process allocations.
+ Coordinate material handling changes and planning. Conduct value stream mapping and process audits.
+ Develop cost-saving project proposals and write projects as required.
+ Assist production in planning labor allocations for mix and line speed changes that impact material handling.
+ Travel up to 40% in North America
You’ll Have:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
+ 3+ years of experience in material flow planning or industrial engineering in a manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment
+ 2+ years of experience working with simulation software for modeling and optimizing material flow scenarios

+ Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering
+ Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Experience
+ 5+ years of industrial engineering experience
+ Working knowledge of MODAPTS
+ GSPAS/APT knowledge
+ PFEP familiarity
+ Ergo Training
+ Strong skills in data analysis using Alteryx, SQL, Power BI, or similar platforms
+ Auto-CAD Experience
+ Validated ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through route cause analysis and drive change within material handling that supports the production.

This position is a range of salary grades 6, 7 and 8.
