RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conducts classes and provides instruction in accordance with policies, procedures and protocols as established by department. Monitors and evaluates students. Prepares, monitors and evaluates courses as required.
• Performs duties under the direction of the Special Education Teacher/Teacher in assignment to Adolescent/Psych area.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Essential: standing, stooping/bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
• Continuous: reaching at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions.
• Occasional: sitting, walking, crawling, reaching above shoulder level.
• Operates audiovisual equipment.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Associates degree from an accredited college or certified as an instructor in a specialty area. (Basic Life Support instructor certification required for CPR instruction.)
• Assignment to Adolescent/Psych area:
o AA degree from an accredited college or 48 college credits at or above level 100 courses, including Mathematics and English.
o Current BLS/HCP certification.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Demonstrated ability to teach.
• Assignment to Clinical Education – CLIQ:
o Recent experience utilizing an electronic medical record/order entry system.
• Assignment to Adolescent/Psych area:
o Prior experience as a teacher or educational assistant highly preferred.
