    Fertility services, including male infertility and andrology, are available at Beachwood Family Health & Surgery Center. Although many people associate infertility treatment with in vitro fertilization, our Fertility Center provides the full range of services, from simple evaluations and recommendations to state-of-the-art reproductive technologies. Patients are seen in a caring environment, where the major emphasis is placed not only on technological excellence, but also on accessibility, personal attention, and emotional support.

     

    In this role as a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI/IVF) RN, you will spend your day in a highly structured and patient-focused environment, supporting individuals on their fertility journey. Mornings are dedicated to patient monitoring-assisting with labs, diagnostics, and meeting with patients during the active phase of their treatment. Afternoons are reserved for patient follow-ups, managing in-basket communications, and care coordination tasks. Acting as a consistent point of contact, you'll guide patients from initial visits through to the operating room, ensuring compassionate, continuous support every step of the way.

     

    A caregiver in this position will work a variable schedule, starting as early as 6:30 am in Beachwood and as early as 7:30 am at Richard E Jacobs Health Center. Schedules will rotate at the start at the latest being 4:30 pm. Caregivers will be expected to float between areas as needed within ambulatory. Additionally, a caregiver in this position will work a weekend rotation at Beachwood Family Health and Surgery Center.

    A caregiver who excels in this role will:

    + Provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in a variety of healthcare settings.

    + Assess patients as well as complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physician of abnormal findings.

    + Establish a care plan in collaboration with the patient, family and health care team.

    + Coordinate ongoing care. Identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning as appropriate.

    + Provide telephone triage and call rotations per department needs.

    + Perform nursing procedures and treatments as directed by physician or LIP in the treatment and management of patient care.

    + Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care consistent with CCHS policies and procedures.

    + Assist with specialized patient care equipment as required by the clinical department and medical specialty assigned.

    + Administer medications and treatments as ordered by a physician or LIP.

    + Direct, coordinate and participate in the evaluation and supervision of nursing care provided to patients.

    + Establish patient care priorities and delegate nursing activities according to the patient needs and staff qualifications and capabilities.

    + Serve as charge nurse when assigned to ensure efficient operations and continuity of care.

    + Participate in education, research and performance improvement activities. Provide health education to patients and families.

    + Develop, evaluate, adapt and document education to meet learning needs and abilities of patients and families.

    + Assist in the preparation of department specific education for patients and colleagues. Cover other nursing roles in the department.

    + Maintain core competency in nursing (CPR, skills labs).

    + Function on a larger care team for each patient and partner with patient to identify barriers in moving through the fertility process.

    + Help patient to navigate their individual plan of care.

    + Help to schedule testing, appointment scheduling for cycles, and procedures.

    + Coordinate resources for medication orders, outside testing, and financial resources where applicable.

    + Perform venipuncture for lab draws and complete urine pregnancy tests.

    + Provide patient education related to plan of care, medication administration and what to expect during each phase of treatment.

    + Provide clinical updates to medical team to facilitate awareness of patient's readiness for retrievals and embryo transfers.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing

    + Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA)

    + Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience

    + Communication and interpersonal skills

    Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)

    + 2 years of recent RN experience

    Physical Requirements:

    + Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

    + Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

    + Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.

    + Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.

    + Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

    + Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    + Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
