CAM (Mastercam) Application Engineer
MLC CAD Systems is seeking an Application Engineer for our Computer-Aided Manufacturing team.
MLC CAD Systems is the #1 Value-Added Reseller (VAR) of Mastercam (CAM Software) the leader in 3D CAD/CAM technology.
For the right individual, this position with MLC CAD Systems is a unique opportunity for a person with proven machining and CNC programming experience to provide business solutions for the manufacturing industries, ranging from global, household name companies to small machine shops.
Proven machining and CNC set-up, cutting tools, and controller experience is required; Mastercam experience is preferred.

Position Purpose: Provide pre- and post-sales support for Mastercam, and downstream applications including machine setup and product benchmarking. Primary responsibilities include product demonstrations, competitive overviews, training and customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities of CAM (Mastercam) Application Engineer:
This role is responsible for providing product guidance and technical support for our sales team and our customers, responsibilities include:
+ Conduct pre-sale activities including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment, and recommendations, part processing recommendations, and development of proposals.
+ Develop and present product presentations and demonstrations, and sales and marketing content such as videos.
+ Provide installation, implementation, and best practices techniques.
+ Train customers in the set-up and operation of Mastercam and downstream applications.
+ Provide phone and web-based troubleshooting for Mastercam software.
+ Learn and maintain an in-depth technical knowledge of product lines represented by MLC CAD Systems.
Qualifications & Characteristics of CAM (Mastercam) Application Engineer:
+ CAM programming experience (Mastercam preferred)
+ Five plus years experience in CNC applications/manufacturing (you should be able to program a part, put it on a machine and cut it).
+ Five-axis CAM programming experience is a must, Mill-Turn is a plus.
+ Strong focus on customer success.
+ Strong communication skills (written & verbal).
+ Ability to produce written and video-based customer instructions.
+ Comfortable speaking in front of groups (such as teaching/training).
+ The ability to work in a team and independently.
+ Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
+ Willing to travel as needed. Some regional and overnight travel may be necessary.
