The Minnesota Board of Pharmacy exists to promote, preserve, and protect the public health, safety, and welfare by fostering the safe distribution of pharmaceuticals and the provision of quality pharmaceutical care for the citizens of Minnesota.
The purpose of this position is to support the effective operation and continued success of the Minnesota Prescription Monitoring Program (MN PMP) and the Opiate Product Registration Fee Program (OPRFP). This role is responsible for verifying eligibility for system access, providing training and technical assistance to data users and reporters, coordinating outreach and public education efforts, and assisting with compliance auditing, data requests, and reporting activities. The position serves as a liaison between the Board of Pharmacy, system vendors, licensees, and other stakeholders, requiring strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally. Through coordination of task force meetings, management of web content, and facilitation of program analytics and outreach, the position plays a key role in promoting safe prescribing and dispensing practices across Minnesota.
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework arrangement. With a telework arrangement, onsite attendance will be required for team members or as requested by management to meet business needs. Minimum Qualifications
+ Experience providing customer service or technical assistance to diverse stakeholders.
+ Knowledge of communication sufficient to write, prepare, and edit materials, using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and sentence construction; (2) communicate effectively with internal and external customers; and (3) explain the reasons for transactions and procedures, rules, and regulations so others understand the information they are being given.
+ Knowledge of standard computer software programs for work processing, presentations, and spreadsheets sufficient to draft, edit documents, produce reports, letters, memos, and other correspondence in appropriate business style.
+ Skills in data entry sufficient to (1) read source document and enter data into specific data fields; (2) locate and correct data entry errors; and (3) receive and review source documents, compare documents to database information, and edit, code and correct documents.
+ Ability to interact with others in a courteous manner including use of common courtesy, tact, and problem solving.
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in public health, health care administration, criminal justice, public policy, or a related field.
+ Experience working with Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMPs), licensing boards, or healthcare data systems.
+ Familiarity with Schedule II–V controlled substances and related terminology.
+ Familiarity with pharmacy operations and terminology.
+ Strong administrative and organizational skills.
+ Experience with data auditing or compliance monitoring processes, including coordination with regulatory agencies.
+ Experience interpreting and applying state or federal statutes related to data privacy, healthcare, or controlled substances.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive or regulated information.
