Special Instructor, Adjunct
Primary Purpose:
Seeking qualified candidates for adjunct nursing faculty positions to provide clinical instruction in critical care, medical-surgical, and obstetrics settings. Adjunct faculty will work closely with nursing students in various clinical environments, guiding them in the application of nursing theory to patient care, promoting safe and evidence-based practices, and supporting the development of clinical judgment.
Requirements:
+ Education/Experience: Based on the program, the colleague must meet education and practice requirements as applicable.
+ Must hold a current active unrestricted applicable license in the State of Ohio
+ Current CPR certification is required if teaching in a clinical setting
+ Teaching experience in a collegiate or university setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
+ Supervises, evaluates, and advises students in classroom, laboratory, and clinical experiences.
+ Maintains student records.
+ Facilitates a learning and caring environment which encourages critical thinking, investigation, self-direction, and respect for the uniqueness of each individual student.
+ Maintains communication and oversees the activities of Assistant Instructors/Preceptors regarding course curriculum and student evaluation, if applicable.
+ Participates in professional activities, programs and professional organizations.
+ Participates in peer review.
+ Participates in College and Faculty Assembly according to full-time/part-time employment status.
+ Attends required College functions.
+ Mentors new faculty.
+ Participates in scholarly activities, either individually or collaboratively.
