Job Summary and Qualifications

The senior strategic sourcing senior analyst will assist in all facets of due diligence necessary for negotiating, creating, and maintaining best in class contracts within our material handling and facility solutions portfolios. These efforts are to the benefit of our member companies within the group purchasing organization membership, and for driving targeted growth in each category and maintaining high customer service through the member engagements. This role will be in general support of the broader team in assisting with the analytical management of existing contracts, as well as efforts in expanding category offerings in each respective portfolio when evaluating potential suppliers. Individual must be proficient in excel in analyzing spend information, commodity indices, be personable and competent in building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, and possess critical thinking skills in dealing with vendors. Prior experience or knowledge in commodity/financial analytics, material handling, and/or facility maintenance categories is a plus. Individual will follow standard practices and policies in analyzing situations and data, and will solve a range of straightforward problems

What you will do in this role:

Project Management:

+ Ability to execute project timelines with guidance from manager. Must have:

+ Demonstrated level of organizational ability and attention to detail

+ Ability to deliver on established timelines while managing multiple opportunities at varying stages

+ Ability to be highly efficient and productive without sacrificing quality

Category Knowledge:

+ Understanding of or aptitude to learn material handling and how end-users interface with the products, including:

+ Product features and benefits

+ Product comparisons between supplier offerings

+ Operational impact to provider

+ Interpretation and use of market indices

Supplier Knowledge:

+ Individual must be able to develop and use knowledge about supplier to develop strategies, create leverage, mitigate risks, and anticipate direction of the market.

+ Strategy Development, Validation, and Risk Mitigation:

+ The individual will develop customer engagement strategies with the guidance of their manager. Individual will seek guidance of manager for risk mitigation issues.

Supplier and Customer Relationship Management:

+ Manage internal stakeholder relationships on an ongoing basis

+ Assist with analytics in managing customer relationship during opportunity engagement and post implementation.

+ Participate in supplier business reviews and review new products/technologies as they arise.

+ Build strong relationships with senior level supplier contacts.

Communications:

+ Communications are primarily focused on effective and efficient communications with suppliers, customers, and internal management.

+ Major communications include:

+ Engaging customers through one-on-one conversations to articulate business strategy and market conditions, and resolve customer specific issues/concerns with contracted suppliers

Collaboration:

+ Collaboration required with functional team throughout supplier engagement process:

+ With account management in managing the customer experience during opportunity engagement

+ With financial analysts on assessing supplier proposals

Financial & Operational Goals:

+ Assist the material handling and facility solutions team meet/exceed annual financial & operational category goals by providing analytical support, and elevating customer service levels

Policies & Procedures:

+ Maintain timely achievement of all goal-oriented tasks ensuring activities adhere to all established policies and procedures and standards of business conduct.

+ Customer Service:

+ Resolve supplier and/or customer issues involved with category expansion efforts.

+ Maintain strong customer relationships and build trust and respect by consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations. Customers are internal and external.

What qualifications you will need:

+ Accredited College Bachelor's Degree required

+ Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to create or interpret simple financial models involving member spend data, market indices, and other inputs.

+ Maintain grace under pressure while displaying a high level of professionalism

+ Align internal and external resources to achieve objectives

+ Pay attention to details

+ Work effectively as part of a team

+ Comprehend and interpret contract language

+ Listen and separate ancillary information from the primary content being communicated, ask appropriate questions to clarify and confirm understanding

+ Excellent oral, written communication skills, and presentation skills

+ Solid knowledge of all MS Office Products, proficient in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
