• Full Charge Bookkeeper

    Robert Half Finance & Accounting (Thousand Oaks, CA)


    Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to join a boutique accounting firm based in Thousand Oaks, California. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a flexible, supportive environment and is eager to take ownership of bookkeeping operations for a diverse portfolio of small business clients. As part of a high-performing team, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage all after-the-fact bookkeeping tasks for approximately 15 small business clients.

    • Reconcile client bank statements monthly using QuickBooks Online and Desktop.

    • Input and categorize expenses to prepare accurate monthly or quarterly financial statements.

    • Communicate directly with clients to address inquiries and provide updates, typically 1–3 interactions per month.

    • Prepare quarterly payroll reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

    • Assist with the preparation of W-2s, sales tax returns, city licenses, and payroll tax filings.

    • Handle occasional distribution of physical documents to clients.

    • Collaborate with the team to maintain compliance and resolve any bookkeeping-related challenges. Requirements • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Desktop is required.

    • Strong ability to prepare financial statements and manage compliance-related tasks.

    • Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and payroll tax fundamentals.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an attentive yet approachable demeanor.

    • Self-motivated and capable of working independently to meet deadlines.

    • Basic knowledge of tax and accounting practices, with training opportunities available for advanced topics.

    • Commitment to maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in all work processes.
