    Description

    New York City based professional services firm is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will handle project billing and manage essential financial processes while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and review accurate project billings, ensuring compliance with contract terms and billing schedules.

    • Collaborate with project managers to align revenue recognition and project costs with company policies.

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for project billing inquiries, resolving discrepancies and providing expert guidance.

    • Track and analyze project performance metrics, including budget variances and profitability assessments.

    • Manage accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely follow-up on payments and addressing disputes effectively.

    • Conduct regular bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of billing activities to support audits and financial reporting.

    • Identify opportunities to enhance billing workflows and improve overall efficiency.

    • Utilize software tools such as Deltek Vision to streamline accounting operations.NEw York City based

    Requirements

    • 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles, with a focus on project billing.

    • Proficiency in Deltek Vision for financial management.

    • Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

    • Expertise in performing bank reconciliations with attention to detail.

    • Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.

    • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with project teams and resolve billing issues.

    • Familiarity with project accounting principles and revenue recognition guidelines.
