Job Description:
We are seeking a Payroll Lead to ensure the accurate and timely processing, printing, and distribution of payroll checks. This role requires adherence to company policies, procedures, and government legal requirements. You will be responsible for processing payroll for 600-700 employees, including multiple weekly payrolls for union employees and biweekly for non-union employees. Additionally, you will handle new hires, terminations, tax liabilities, and employee requests related to payroll.
Responsibilities:
+ Ensure accurate and timely processing, printing, and distribution of payroll checks.
+ Manually enter timecards and gather time from multiple timekeeping systems for export.
+ Determine necessary changes to data such as working union and employee type.
+ Process payroll for 600-700 employees, including multiple weekly and biweekly payrolls.
+ Set up new hires in eCMS and enter informational changes like pay rates and tax withholdings.
+ Manage working dues deductions for union employees and process terminations.
+ Prepare and send out weekly leave balance reports for union employees.
+ Prepare, file, and pay weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual returns and tax liabilities.
+ Calculate prevailing wage rate/fringe for compliance with wage determination projects.
+ Prepare and submit monthly union benefit reports for multiple unions.
+ Manually calculate garnishment deductions and set up garnishment/child support deductions.
+ Perform 401k recap and biweekly submissions.
+ Respond to employee requests for payroll-related questions and concerns.
+ Ensure completion and maintenance of all required records, filings, and reports.
+ Process PSL payouts and show-up time hours for Local 26 employees.
+ Assist with audits.
Qualifications:
+ 2-3 years of payroll experience.
+ Union experience.
+ Certified payroll reporting experience.
+ Payroll tax experience.
+ Experience with prevailing wage.
+ In-house payroll experience.
+ Reconciliation skills.
Work Environment:
The team manager has extensive experience with the company, and the role begins as 100% onsite during training before transitioning to a hybrid schedule. The position is focused on processing payroll for up to 700 employees, covering 10 different unions. The work environment is dynamic and offers full exposure to all aspects of payroll, making it an excellent opportunity for growth and learning.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.
