Job Description
General Description
Macaulay Honors College is seeking a collaborative, highly motivated, compassionate individual to join our college as a part-time Macaulay Restorative Practice Program Coordinator. The Program Coordinator will help lead the implementation of the Macaulay Restorative Practice Program, which aims to promote conflict resolution, healing, and community building among our students, faculty, and staff. In collaboration and with guidance from the Program Manager, the Coordinator will mentor and guide a student cohort of 10 students, including 8 mediators and 2 peer leaders, helping them to build a deep understanding of restorative practices and empowering them to deliver peer-based programming. This role will work closely with our organizational partner, the New York Peace Institute, to facilitate restorative practice processes, engage campus stakeholders, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and connected campus environment.
Note: This is a part-time, grant-funded position through 6/30/26. It is hybrid with an expectation of 1-2 days in office.
Macaulay Restorative Practice
The Macaulay Restorative Practice Program is designed to strengthen the campus community by building trust, deepening relationships, and equipping students, faculty, and staff with the tools to support one another—both in times of crisis and in everyday interactions. Through restorative practices such as community-building circles, conflict resolution, and guided responses to harm, the program fosters constructive dialogue, mutual understanding, and a culture of care across Macaulay.
Since its founding in 1847, The City University of New York has provided a transformative engine of social mobility for generations of New Yorkers while advancing knowledge through research, artistic creation, and professional development. Macaulay Honors College was established in 2001 as a natural extension of this mission. It created an academic community dedicated to providing an extraordinary education to academically motivated and high-potential learners to help them launch extraordinary lives.
Macaulay Honors College has since become one of the top honors colleges in the nation and is the only public honors college in New York. Our consortial partnership with eight CUNY baccalaureate-granting institutions (Baruch, Brooklyn, City, Hunter, John Jay, Lehman, Staten Island, and Queens) allows us to draw upon the vast resources of the City University with New York's cultural, scientific, and business communities.
