Job Description

Job Title: Certification Reviewer- Clinical Experience Preferred- Atlanta

Pay Grade: M

Job Summary:

Conducts compliance reviews of providers for adherence with rules, regulations, standards, and policies, primarily focusing on behavioral health providers supporting individuals through Crisis Stabilization Units (CSU) and Behavioral Health Crisis Centers (BHCC). Acts as subject matter expert in required areas. Supports compliance reviews of intellectual and developmental disability providers, as needed. Functions as a resource within the Division of Strategy, Technology, and Performance based upon the critical needs at any given time.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintains working knowledge of all rules, requirements, policies, provider manuals etc. that are used to evaluate provider performance.

• Evaluates provider performance and draws conclusions based on evidence provided to develop findings of deficiency and/or to certify a provider.

• Prepares detailed, thorough, and accurate review findings by incorporating data analysis, data interpretation, policies and rules which describe complex and/or technical information that can sustain legal challenge.

• Works closely with other staff to ensure review survey instrument adequately reflects provider requirements, policy, rules, regulations, laws, etc.

• Acts as subject matter expert in field of expertise.

• Serves as team lead during reviews.

• Supports in meetings and conducts walk throughs of CSU/BHCC new building projects.

• Completes accurate, thorough, and timely entry of data into multiple databases.

• Communicates effectively and professionally, verbally and in writing, with providers and other stakeholders, including other DBHDD offices and divisions.

• Provides technical assistance to providers regarding policy, rules, and regulation requirements.

• Uses critical thinking to determine risks to individuals being served.

• Represents DBHDD professionally during all interactions with providers and stakeholders.

• Travels statewide, approximately 50%, as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of DBHDD services, especially CSU/BHCC service settings.

• Experience conducting audits in behavioral health service settings.

• Exceptional computer skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Licensure as a LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or LMSW

High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of job-related experience; or two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Complnc Specialist 2 (RCP061) or position equivalent.
