    Description

    We are seeking a senior -level data engineer to support our machine learning science teams by designing and implementing robust ML data pipelines and infrastructure. This role is highly collaborative and hands-on, requiring close integration with teams in the U.S. and UK, including company partners, engineers, and scientists in the Sunnyvale lab. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, prototype-driven environment.

    + experience processing high volume raw data streams (e.g., video feeds up to 600 Gbps)

    + Python /Pytorch

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Design and implement machine learning pipelines tailored to evolving hardware and data requirements.

    + Build and maintain data pipelines that support multi-modal data ingestion, transformation, and synchronization (e.g., video, sensor, signal data).

    + Collaborate with ML scientists, annotators, and engineers to define SOPs for data collection and annotation.

    + Work with annotation tools (e.g., CVAT, Labelbox) and design annotation workflows.

    + Process and synchronize raw data streams (e.g., video feeds up to 600 Gbps) using internal infrastructure and tools like the Brazil build system.

    + Support sprint-based development cycles with clearly defined deliverables and milestone-based payment releases.

    + Operate within AWS (S3, EC2, Batch) and potentially SageMaker with Bedrock for scalable ML workflows.

    + Ensure high performance through parallel processing (multithreading, multiprocessing) and efficient data handling.

    + Implement CI/CD pipelines, unit testing (e.g., pytest), and maintain version control using Git.

    + Provide architectural guidance and technical leadership in the absence of dedicated software engineers on staff.

    + Strong Python programming skills, including experience with NumPy, Pandas, h5py.

    + Deep understanding of ML training data pipelines (e.g., PyTorch DataLoaders, TensorFlow Datasets).

    + Experience with feature engineering and selection for ML models.

    + Familiarity with ML model requirements such as input formats and latency constraints.

    + Proven experience working with large-scale, multi-modal datasets and evolving hardware environments.

    + Expertise in AWS (especially S3 and EC2) and scalable infrastructure design.

    + Strong grasp of parallel processing techniques and performance optimization.

    + Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and SOP documentation.

    + Ability to work on-site and engage directly with lab hardware and prototype systems.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr.
