Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team and contribute to various laboratory tasks and projects. The role involves setting up and running laboratory experiments, analyzing test specimens, and working on materials selection, corrosion testing, and analysis. This position offers the opportunity to work under supervision, assisting more experienced team members while developing the capability to work independently.

Responsibilities

+ Set up and run laboratory experiments.

+ Analyze test specimens.

+ Perform tasks related to materials selection and corrosion testing and analysis, including experimental setup, data collection, and data reporting.

+ Inspect, test, repair, and install equipment.

+ Develop the capability to work independently on project activities while performing work under supervision.

+ Assist more experienced technicians, technologists, and professionals on technical assignments.

+ Follow the Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Assurance program on projects.

+ Record research activities performed in the lab book.

+ Prepare solutions, clean test cells, move items throughout the lab, and calibrate equipment following prescribed procedures.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

+ Experience or knowledge in chemistry, obtained through a degree or work experience.

+ Strong mechanical aptitude, including troubleshooting and tool utilization.

+ Ability to work in a lab environment.

+ Understanding of chemical engineering and chemical testing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in materials testing.

+ Mechanical aptitude.

Work Environment

The Lab Technician will work in a lab setting alongside 12 other technicians. The standard working hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional overtime expected. There is flexibility in start times between 7 AM and 9 AM. This position is a 6-12 month contract, with the possibility of conversion to direct employment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
