Job Title: Mechanical Assembly Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our team full-time. This role involves working from Monday to Friday, with hours from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. There is currently an option to work Monday to Thursday from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm and Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with voluntary Saturday shifts available. The successful candidate will be responsible for dismantling, rebuilding, adjusting, cleaning, inspecting, repairing, painting, and assembling equipment for demonstration and development tests, including electrical hookups.
Responsibilities
+ Dismantle and rebuild machinery for demonstration and development tests.
+ Adjust, clean, inspect, and repair machinery.
+ Paint and assemble equipment, including electrical hookups.
+ Adapt equipment for tests and operate all equipment for various tests.
+ Maintain primary and auxiliary equipment.
+ Read and interpret applicable blueprints and disassemble machinery using hand and power tools.
+ Fit and lay out mating parts of assemblies and perform additional machining.
+ Replace defective or worn parts and reassemble machinery.
+ Adjust clearance and timing of control devices to specifications.
+ Set up and prepare all equipment, establish rates, and operate machinery.
+ Record pertinent data during operation as directed.
+ Conduct routine evaluation of sample materials.
+ Modify components for tests as required to ensure successful demonstrations.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in electrical assembly and machine building.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
+ Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
+ Mechanical assembly skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Open to entry-level candidates with mechanical inclination.
+ Experience in welding, pipefitting, or automotive work is beneficial.
+ Military background is advantageous.
+ Electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
+ Schematic reading.
+ Installation experience.
+ Machine building.
+ Military Veteran with Secret Clearance is a plus.

The work environment is in a shop located in Saginaw, MI, with another location in Texas. The company is a small, privately-run organization that manufactures a wide range of mixing, compounding, and centrifugal separation equipment. It designs, builds, installs, and services equipment tailored to client needs, including large food and chemical companies like Pepsi and Coke. Employees are part of a team that values quality and long-term relationships with clients.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saginaw, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $31.00/hr.
