    THE POSITION

    Are you an administrative expert with a sharp attention to detail? If so, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is on the lookout for a driven and committed Administrative Officer 2 to become part of our team! This role will provide you with essential insights and significant opportunities for career advancement.     DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As an Administrative Officer 2, you will be primarily responsible for implementing the DEP Streamlining Permits for Economic Expansion and Development (SPEED) program, in addition to providing valuable assistance to the director of the Office of Program Integration on a variety of agency-wide administrative, policy, permitting, and programmatic issues. You will also collect, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary data, including permit program revenues and expenditures by utilizing new and existing databases, spreadsheets, and reports in developing and implementing the program budget. We are looking for someone who possesses a comprehensive working knowledge of Commonwealth permitting, revenue collection and payment, purchasing, and budgeting procedures. Excellent networking skills are essential, as you will be collaborating with top officials on highly sensitive and controversial issues in an effort to reach a resolution.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment

    + Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

    + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet conn ection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + One year as an Administrative Officer 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ;or

    + Three years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and a bachelor's degree ;or

    + Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
