Environmental Designer

If this is you, you will create, refine and evolve the environmental design components across the full stores portfolio. This position requires a forward thinking, detail-oriented design minded creative, that builds from the global creative direction for design development and generates implementation standards for consistent execution throughout projects.
You will work independently and with a team to develop and manage all architectural and 3D environmental components, factoring in the needs of the Consumer, the Brand and our Business partners.
You will communicate and present design concepts to the Design Leaders and X-functional partners, create 3D models, 2D drawings, presentations and details that effectively communicate design intent, as well as produce project production files when required.
Evolve retail concepts and stores, support enhanced product presentation and service engagement, aligning with Brand experience creative direction.
Elevate and strengthen premium and purposeful storytelling across retail consumer touch points. Define, pilot, perfect and scale design solutions.
Supports and partners with Global Retail Design Director and Chief Design officer to lead project vision.
Lead a design process of clear ideation. Focusing on exploration of color, materiality, texture, spacing, proportion, scale and use of the environment.
Ensures project goals and priorities align with Retail brand and business strategies.
Develops presentation materials that effectively communicate design concepts to all levels of leadership and partners.
Collaborate with peers, design counterparts, internal partners (Brand, Retail Brand, Brand Creative, Digital, Brand Comms etc.) and external partners to ensure feasibility of designs and functional needs are met.
Actively gains knowledge and experience regarding design ethos and strategies and processes.
Drives education and inspiration, sharing knowledge and exposure to current and future trends influencing the innovation of consumer experiences and technology.
To be a collaborator working across project teams and retail org.
Fosters innovative thinking, collaboration, and teamwork.
Understands design processes to ensure results, timelines and budgets are met
You may travel 10-15% of the time.
Qualifications:
Bachelors / master's degree in architecture, industrial design or environments design or related fields.
Minimum of 8 years of progressive, technically sophisticated design experience in architectural, experiential or brand design and a demonstrated ability to apply these skills in ways that elevate brand excellence.
International experience beneficial.
Retail industry experience preferred, retail environments, concepts and programs. Knowledge of store environments and their consumer impact.
Comprehensive knowledge of design processes . Advanced knowledge of computer systems.
Proven ability to lead a design team on multiple projects, manage resources, time and timelines
Ability to source, screen and manage contractors/external vendors including design and production studios/agencies.
Showed strength in operating in a design studio in the delivery of progressively complex projects of scale, budget, and size.
Proven track record of good judgment and ability to contribute meaningfully to the determination of policy and strategy.
Proven track record of managing ambiguity, and effectively collaborating in the creation process.
Tried expert in applying and performing design skills, including concepting, drawing/sketching, typography, ideation, color theory, texture, and spatial design in scale, visual presentation development and space planning layouts.
Proven ability to work independently as well as guide teams across a mix of complex projects.
Knowledge of and sensitivity to current trends in color, design, art, photography and experience design and their application to the athletic industry.
Expert oral and written communication and presentations skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations to senior management.
Ability to work cooperatively across streams and territories to share ideas and develop effective responses.
Proven ability to work in a constantly evolving, high-growth environment.
Positivity and eagerness to do great work in a team environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities, demands and changes.
Demonstrated expertise using computer design applications including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, V-Ray, Figma, Keynote and Adobe Creative Suite.
