Position Description:
Provides specialized retention outreach and support services to students and serves as an Academic First Responder to at-risk students. Communicates with students digitally and in-person to provide holistic student support including academic development plans, resource referrals, and academic and career goal setting . Works directly with an academic college and participates in ongoing training and professional development to effectively support student success. The Student Success Specialist position is currently restricted for use in Academic Innovation & Student Success.

Major/Essential Functions:
+ Deliver personalized, comprehensive support and outreach to a designated group of undergraduate students to promote retention and academic success.
+ Coordinate with the Office of Student Success in the College of Arts & Sciences to proactively identify and assist students.
+ Leverage student data tools and indicators such as alerts, academic standing, account holds, and mid-term performance to identify retention risks and implement timely, effective interventions.
+ Coordinate communication with faculty and staff regarding alerts and connect students with appropriate resources to increase their likelihood of personal and academic success.
+ Maintain accurate records of outreach and student meetings, such as project data and other key data for departmental reporting.
+ Work with other campus departments to build relationships to provide student support on a continuous basis.
+ Participate in ongoing professional development, including identification of supplemental resources and/or student advocacy as appropriate.
+ May perform other administrative functions aligned with individual and departmental priorities, such as offering student assistance during drop-in hours.
+ Facilitate, coordinate, and help plan HSI and Title V. Related Grant activities
