Description of Work Unit
The Animal Reproduction and Biotechnology Lab ( ARBL ) within the Department of Biomedical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Colorado State University is an interdepartmental program focusing on research, teaching and service in the area of reproductive biology of domestic animals. Faculty of the ARBL includes members of three departments in two colleges. The ARBL has been recognized as a Colorado State University Program of Research and Scholarly Excellence since 1989.

Position Summary
The Barfield lab is hiring a non-student hourly position to support teaching in the Master of Science in Biomedical Science program with a specialization in assisted reproductive technologies and research efforts with domestic and non-domestic species. The primary duties of this person will include:
+ Planning, preparing, and conducting laboratory exercises for students in the MS- ART program.
+ Working in slaughterhouses to collect reproductive material for research and teaching purposes.
+ Creating in vitro produced embryos for teaching purposes.
+ Supporting the lab by assisting with media preparation and basic lab quality control.
+ Working with research partners to collect samples for research purposes.
+ Assisting students with scientific writing exercises.
This person must be willing to drive a university vehicle to locations outside of Fort Collins in all seasons.
Position Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
Must have a PhD in animal science, biology, biomedical science or related discipline.
Must have experience with in vitro embryo production and andrology techniques.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications:
Experience working with non-domestic species on reproduction research projects.
Publication record.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
