The Leonardo DRS Land Systems business is a recognized leader in the design and integration of complex technologies into new and legacy systems and platforms for global military and commercial customers. We are a 4 year running Top Workplace in the Greater St. Louis area.

Job Summary

Position is physically located in West Plains, Missouri and is not a remote position.

Job Responsibilities

+ Provide direct engineering support to manufacturing operations in a heavy manufacturing environment.

+ Experience with welding (MIG, TIG, etc), heavy machining, precision hydraulic assembly, mechanical and electromechanical assembly and product acceptance testing preferred.

+ Daily duties may include performing design, fabrication, modification and/or evaluation of manufacturing operations.

+ May prepare manufacturing plans, create and maintain manufacturing bill of materials, and create and maintain process instruction set.

+ May also conduct support studies and provide analysis or tests in the development of manufacturing operations.

+ May assign work to technical writers and/or technicians.

+ Position will be Involved with the design, development, modification and analysis of products.

+ Troubleshoot and diagnoses problems with existing products and makes modifications and improvements as needed.

+ Compile and evaluate product design and test data.

+ Evaluate and recommend design approaches to meet production requirements for new or improved products.

+ Working knowledge of statistical techniques in development such as Design of Experiments and SPC.

+ Responsibilities are moderate in scope where analysis of situations or data involves a variety of common factors

+ Only general guidance is needed on routine work; instructions on new assignments as needed

+ Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

Qualifications

The position requires 2+ years experience and Bachelor’s degree in related engineering or technology field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
