    Join our ambitious Gibco Bioproduction Analytics Team at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., focusing on the design and commercialization of new cell culture media and media supplement products.

    A Day in the Life:

    + Analyze cell culture media samples autonomously or with limited mentorship.

    + Perform analytical assays on MassSpec instrumentation focusing on small molecules and metabolomics.

    + Participate in analytical method development, optimization, and validation.

    Keys to Success:

    + Proven ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain analytical instrumentation.

    + Initiative to engage in process improvement projects.

    + Strong communication skills to regularly update managers and teams.

    Education

    + Degree or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or related field (B.S. degree or equivalent experience with 2+ years industry experience, M.S. degree or equivalent experience preferred).

    Experience

    + Functional knowledge of laboratory equipment and techniques.

    + Experience with chromatography techniques such as HPLC/UHPLC and LC-MS technology.

    + Experience with processing untargeted and targeted MassSpec data.

    + Preferred experience with Thermo Scientific TSQ and/or Orbitrap MassSpec series instrumentation.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    + Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

     

    Physical Requirements / Work Environment

     

    Work is performed in a laboratory setting with routine exposure to hazardous materials. Strict adherence to safety protocols is required.

    Compensation and Benefits

     

    The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $66,000.00–$88,000.00.

     

    This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
