Job Description
Role: Corporate Process Engineering Specialist
Job Summary: The Corporate Process Engineering Specialist will operate within a multidisciplinary corporate engineering team to deliver technical expertise and oversight on plant capital expenditure and maintenance projects. This role supports standardization across the Ennis and other manufacturing sites, emphasizing process safety, optimization, and operational efficiency

Job Responsibilities
+ Analyze and optimize processes to improve product quality, throughput, and energy efficiency with an emphasis on extruders but also covering asphalt, hot oil, and utility systems.
+ Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure consistent production and minimal downtime.
+ Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, retrofits, or replacements based on performance gaps and new technology.
+ Build and maintain a database of extruder vendors, including their capabilities, specialties, and performance records.
+ Coordinate technical discussions with suppliers regarding extruder specifications, customizations, and innovations.
+ Develop vendor qualification criteria and assist in sourcing new extrusion technologies or parts.
+ Conduct trials and experiments to evaluate new materials, screw designs, or process settings.
+ Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to align extrusion capabilities with future product needs.
+ Lead or participate in Kaizen events and other continuous improvement initiatives focused on extrusion processes.
+ Train plant personnel and junior engineers on extrusion fundamentals, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
Qualifications:
+ Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited university
+ 5+ years of experience working in a similar role
+ Ability to work effectively within a team environment
+ Experience with development of process documentation to be used for project execution and troubleshooting existing equipment
+ Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Power Point
+ Ability to develop schematics in AutoCAD is a plus
+ P.Eng. certification is a plus
