POSITION SUMMARY:
This is professional work providing coordination of strategic planning, policy and budget initiatives within Investigations and Forensic Services (IFS) Support bureau. The incumbent in this position will serve in a professional capacity and is the Human Resource Coordinator and project manager. The incumbent’s Human Resource Coordinator duties include providing operational and management coordination of personnel activities for the department’s sworn and forensic personnel; coordinates the analyst progression process; and creates and develops content and graphic design layout of IFS recruitment brochures, banners, displays, promotional materials and other items, as directed. As project manager, the incumbent will ensure the success of high visibility initiatives of statewide importance; responsible for coordinating and leading task-groups, conferences, workshops, committees and similar activities relevant to assigned projects; coordinate major projects on behalf of the IFS Support bureau, including statistical analysis, data review, plans review and plans development; review administrative policies, procedures, guidelines, and operational plans addressing law enforcement investigations and/or forensic science issues; conduct research, develop and coordinate hiring and promotional processes, participate in and lead various special programs, and consult with peers and management regarding investigations and forensic science issues; coordinate strategic planning activities for IFS; and apply research and interpretive skills and techniques and the use of numerous investigative, intelligence and information sources/databases.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
+ Preparing job advertisements for all positions within Protective Services, to include sworn positions;
+ Handling direct hire sworn applicants to ensure FDLE policy and procedure is followed;
+ Entering Job Requisitions into People First System for vacancies, as appropriate, while coordinating the screening process with Command Staff, reviewing applications for minimum qualifications, screening applications as requested and then conducting the hiring process in accordance with FDLE policies and procedures and DMS human resource guidelines;
+ Approving selection process materials and after a selection is made, submiting necessary documentation to Human Resources (HR), as appropriate;
+ Preparing Personnel Action Request Forms (PARFs) for all necessary actions in a timely manner;
+ Completing progression paperwork and forwarding to HR for processing;
+ Managing the collection, review and preparation of applicable documents to prove compliance with accreditation standards for submission to the Accreditation unit;
+ Coordinating background investigations with Executive Investigations for all external applicants recommended for employment as sworn members for the department; and
+ Managing venue, accommodation, messaging and meeting materials for specified statewide meetings.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
+ Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis;
+ Knowledge of basic management principles and practices;
+ Knowledge of information technology;
+ Ability to keep information confidential and secure;
+ Ability to research, collect, analyze information and make relevant recommendations;
+ Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials;
+ Ability to conduct fact finding research;
+ Ability to use problem solving techniques; and
+ Ability to assess priorities, plan, organize, and coordinate assignments.

BASE SALARY:
+ $53,917.08
NOTES:
Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
