We are searching for the best talent for **t** **wo Associate Director, CA** **R Screening and Lead Selection (Cell & Genetic Medicines Discovery)** that will be based in Cambridge, MA.
Purpose:
We are looking for a dynamic and strategic Associate Director to lead and elevate our Cell Therapy initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving the strategic development, optimization, and execution of innovative programs aimed at enhancing the therapeutic potential of our CAR T cell products. You will leverage your expertise to collaborate with cross-functional teams, guiding discovery activities that propel our mission forward. The ideal candidate brings a robust background in immunology or related fields, alongside extensive experience in the development and execution of cell therapy discovery projects. Your leadership skills will be crucial in mentoring team members and fostering a collaborative environment that drives scientific excellence. This is a unique opportunity to make significant contributions to groundbreaking advancements that have the potential to transform patient care.
Responsibilities:
+ Lead and mentor a team of scientists and research associates, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.
+ Oversee CAR screening activities, including in vitro functional assays, phenotypic characterization, and candidate down-selection to support therapeutic programs.
+ Drive pipeline programs by integrating screening data with translational insights to enable clear and timely decision-making.
+ Ensure on-time delivery of program objectives and milestones by managing timelines, resources, and cross-functional dependencies.
+ Partner with cross-functional groups (e.g., in vivo pharmacology, non-clinical safety, manufacturing, etc) to ensure alignment on candidate profile and selection criteria.
+ Contribute to platform innovation initiatives to improve screening throughput, assay design, and predictive relevance.
+ Communicate progress and data clearly to stakeholders, including senior leadership and external partners.
+ Support the development and implementation of strategic plans and resource allocation for the CSLS group.
Qualifications:
Required:
+ PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience in cell therapy, immuno-oncology, or T cell biology.
+ Demonstrated track record of scientific leadership and team management in an industry or translational research setting.
+ Deep understanding of CAR-T cell design and function, including assay systems used to evaluate CAR potency, persistence, and phenotype.
+ Prior experience leading a team.
+ Strong project management skills with a proven ability to deliver results under tight timelines.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to diverse audiences.
+ A collaborative and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to lead in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience supporting IND-enabling studies or working on CAR-T programs that have advanced to the clinic.
+ Familiarity with high-throughput screening platforms, flow cytometry, cytokine profiling, and gene editing techniques (e.g., CRISPR, viral vectors).
+ Demonstrated success in driving cross-functional decision-making and contributing to pipeline strategy.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$120,000 to $207,000
