Job Title: Test Technician
Reports to: Manager, Manufacturing Engineering
Department: Engineering
Work Model: Full-time, On-site, 50-90% travel
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for coordinating and performing qualification testing on commercial and military grade rugged electronics. Environmental, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), power, and safety qualification are used to support product development and validation, marketing, sales, and manufacturing initiatives to prove design acceptability and obtain various compliance certifications.
Essential Functions
+ Determines compliance by establishing compliance test standards; conducting and witnessing tests; performing diagnostic procedures; measuring performance; analyzing and evaluating findings; performing forensic analysis of failures; troubleshooting failures; supervising sub-contractors with the assistance of a Test Engineer.
+ Attains compliance by isolating and resolving non-compliance issues; recommending product and process changes; initiating engineering change notices.
+ Assists in the preparation of compliance reports by collecting and summarizing measurement data and trends.
+ Assists the Projects team for development of test strategies.
+ Assists in the creation of and Executes test plans.
+ Assists engineers and designers through product characterization and testing.
+ Assists in product design, development, and production.
+ Provides testing input during design and development phase.
+ Inspects products and testing processes for flaws and identify areas of improvement.
+ Assists in the creation of prototypes for testing equipment.
+ Builds and sets up equipment with assistance from a Test Engineer.
+ Prepares and conducts experiments with assistance from a Test Engineer.
+ Conducts tests and collects data with assistance from a Test Engineer.
+ Calculates or records results during experiments.
+ Provides oversight for external, 3rd party compliance testing.
+ Coordinates witnesses for observed testing.
+ Complies with safety, quality, and industry applicable standards.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Knowledge of mechanical or electrical systems required
+ Must be able to sit, stand and bend at various times while reviewing the computer hardware items
+ Ability to transport and inspect products and effectively use computer daily as needed
Required Qualification
+ Must be a US Person (US Citizen, person granted US Permanent Resident Card or any individual who is granted status as a "protected person”)
+ Associate degree in engineering field or 2+ years of test or build experience in lieu of degree.
+ Current valid US driver’s license with good driving record
Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Occasional exposure to manufacturing floor and testing environments. May require lifting up to 50 lbs., and standing for extended periods during product testing.
