    Description

    The Building Custodian will be responsible for the upkeep and on-going maintenance of the building. The candidate must be able to make repairs and assist with a multitude of tasks that arise in a maintenance program.

     

    • Responsible for general sanitation, proper storage, and the distribution of food items as directed. Adheres to meal schedule as directed. Successfully completes and maintains the NYC Qualifying certification in Food Protection.

    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance.

    • Must be able to work in all outdoor climate conditions.

    • May be required to assist in any agency needs at any agency sites.

    • Able to handle any and all custodial maintenance problems arise.

    • Must be able to operate both powered and non-powered tools and ground maintenance equipment.

    • Must be able to climb step stools, ladders and negotiate confined spaces.

    • Plumbing: repair flushometers, replace washers, copper sweating, leak repairs, correct plumbing stoppages, replace toilet and sink repairs.

    • Electrical: replace outlets and switches, install light fixtures.

    • Carpentry: repair doors, furniture, holes in walls, painting, rough carpentry repairs on grounds, etc.

    • Masonry: rough repairs to walls, stone fencing, etc.

    • Conduct preventative and emergency maintenance of HVAC systems in conjunction with third party vendor.

     

    Must be able to operate agency motor vehicles and possess a valid New York State operator’s license with a driving history acceptable to agency.

    Requirements

    • High School Diploma/GED.

    • Maintenance experience.

    $39,839.80/year
