• General Assignment Reporter

    KABB/WOAI is looking for an aggressive, take-charge General Assignment Reporter to help us continue to grow our audience and empower our viewers. We're looking for a motivated, energetic, and creative reporter who can gather information and enterprise new stories. You should have sound writing skills, a great work ethic, and a can-do attitude. The ideal candidate should be able to think on their feet, have excellent live shot skills, and thrive on breaking stories.

    No day will look the same as a Reporter, however, the main responsibilities will include:

    + Create, gather, and write meaningful and engaging stories for newscasts, websites, and social media platforms

    + Provide news on air as directed by news management

    + Engage with local community members

    + Review material for fairness, accuracy, and balance

    + Work closely with all team members, including Producers, Editors, Anchors, and News Director

    Additionally, this person should:

    + Have proven knowledge and experience working with current media creation tools and contemporary newsroom systems

    + Excel in storytelling across multiple platforms

    + Possess strong writing and copy-editing skills

    + Have 2 years’ reporting experience

    + A bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred

    + Be able to work well under pressure
