Who We Need
Abilities First is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager to lead our AP department. The Accounts Payable Manager plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial records and contributing to broader financial operations in accordance with agency philosophy and policy & Corporate Compliance Plan. The ideal candidate is not only well-versed in AP processes and systems, but also brings strong leadership skills to support, supervise, and develop the AP team. We are looking for someone who is collaborative, organized, and dedicated to continuous improvement in financial operations and staff development.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am-4:30pm
Pay Range: $26.50 to $29.50
Position Summary
The A/P Manager will oversee all aspects of accounts payable and assume direct supervision of accounts payable bookkeepers. The A/P Manager will also assist in the maintenance of accounting records of the Finance Department in accordance with GAAP as assigned.
Position Standards
+ Supervision of Accounts Payable Staff
+ Responsible for securing/providing training to all new A/P staff
+ Responsible for assuring that A/P Procedures are current
+ Annual preparation of A/P staff employee evaluations
+ Oversee all aspects of Accounts Payable functions (procedures, account postings, vendors, etc.)
+ Assist in general ledger month end closing as assigned
+ Preparation of annual 1099’s and applicable reporting
+ Assist in preparation of annual agency budgets as assigned
+ Prepare account analysis for annual audit as assigned
+ Provide ad hoc reporting and account analysis as requested
+ Ensures all required trainings and certifications required are current, and seeks further support and training where needed.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or a combination of education and experience may be deemed acceptable per supervisor
+ Strong technical aptitude and proficient in Microsoft Excel
+ Experience in non-profit accounting preferred
+ Must have a current NYS driver’s license deemed acceptable by our insurance carrier for occasional local travel.
