The Security Coordinator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Micron Technology’s electronic security systems, including CCTV and access control. This role supports both internal and external customers by ensuring the integrity, compliance, and efficiency of physical security operations. You will also play a key role in training development, investigative support, and regulatory documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight:
+ Coordinate and maintain Micron’s access control and CCTV systems across designated sites.
+ Develop and enforce electronic security system standards in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements.
+ Support documentation and compliance efforts related to CFATS (where applicable).
+ Manage key control programs, including audits, approvals, tracking, and issuance of master keys.
+ Maintain and update training documentation and databases to ensure personnel proficiency.
+ Stay updated on industry trends and integrate standard methodologies into security operations.
Training & Development:
+ Design and deliver training programs for physical security systems and procedures.
+ Evaluate training effectiveness and implement corrective actions as needed.
+ Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements for employees and contractors.
Investigations & Compliance:
+ Initiate and conduct investigations related to security incidents, property loss, or policy violations.
+ Collaborate with Human Resources and Employee Relations on internal investigations.
+ Ensure investigative practices align with legal standards and company policies.
Administrative & Strategic Support:
+ Assist in budget preparation and monitor expenditures for assigned programs.
+ Provide analytical and administrative support to Security Management.
+ Prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence as required.
Leadership & Team Collaboration:
+ Contribute to the development of team goals, objectives, and procedural improvements.
+ Monitor team activities to ensure compliance with legal and corporate standards.
+ Champion a culture of safety, compliance, and ethical conduct.
Qualifications:
+ Demonstrable experience in physical security systems administration and coordination.
+ Solid grasp of investigative techniques, legal compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
+ Superb communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to prioritize and work closely across departments.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
+ 2+ years of experience in physical security, law enforcement, military, or corporate security operations.
+ Experience with electronic security systems (e.g., CCTV, access control platforms such as Lenel, ExacqVision, or similar).
Technical Skills:
+ Proficiency in managing and resolving electronic security systems.
+ Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., CFATS, OSHA, DHS guidelines).
+ Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
Soft Skills:
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
+ Ability to work independently and multi-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
Other:
+ Must be able to pass a background check and any site-specific security clearance requirements.
+ Availability for occasional travel and after-hours support as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, Security Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
Professional Experience:
+ 3–5 years of experience in corporate security, law enforcement, or military security operations.
+ Experience supporting multi-site security operations in a global or large-scale enterprise environment.
Technical Expertise:
+ Advanced knowledge of electronic security systems, including access control (e.g., Lenel, Genetec) and video surveillance platforms.
+ Experience with security system integration, configuration, and resolving.
+ Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as CFATS, DHS, OSHA, and ISO 27001.
Certifications:
+ ASIS certifications such as:
+ **PSP** (Physical Security Professional)
+ **CPP** (Certified Protection Professional)
+ **PCI** (Professional Certified Investigator)
+ Manufacturer-specific certifications in access control or CCTV systems.
Leadership & Communication:
+ Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams or projects.
+ Strong social skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical customers.
+ Experience in designing and delivering training programs.
Other:
+ Working knowledge of investigative procedures, evidence handling, and legal considerations.
+ Experience with security-related budgeting and vendor management.
+ Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and regulatory environments.
