Position Summary:
Decisive Point Consulting Group, LLC (DPCG) is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Analyst to provide analytical support to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) J-3/5/7 Directorate. The selected candidate will work alongside senior leadership and mission planners to assess, develop, and refine strategies that enhance DISA’s global Command and Control (C2) capabilities across the Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN). This role demands high-level critical thinking, planning experience, and an understanding of complex defense environments.
The Strategic Analyst will help shape future operations, support campaign-level planning, and provide senior-level input on operational risk, policy, and force integration strategies in line with joint doctrine and DISA’s operational priorities.
Essential Functions:
+ Analyze strategic guidance (e.g., National Defense Strategy, JSCP, DISA Strategic Plan) to inform the development of integrated operational strategies.
+ Support the formulation of long-term plans, concepts of operations (CONOPS), and capability alignment across DISA’s mission areas.
+ Deliver data-driven recommendations and decision-support products to DISA leadership that assess the operational effectiveness of emerging technologies, cyber policies, and communications infrastructure.
+ Perform mission environment and stakeholder analysis to support campaign design, investment prioritization, and operational synchronization across Combatant Commands and Joint Force elements.
+ Support the J-5 and J-7 planning efforts by evaluating the implications of policy, threats, and resourcing trends on DISA’s cyber and C2 posture.
+ Assist in scenario-based planning and conduct assessments on the effectiveness and resiliency of DISA programs during contested or degraded operations.
+ Collaborate with operational planners, cybersecurity experts, technical teams, and mission partners to integrate insights into coherent strategic frameworks.
Required Qualifications:
+ Active TS/SCI clearance
+ Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Studies, International Affairs, Political Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master’s preferred)
+ Minimum of 6–10 years of experience in military, interagency, or national security strategy development
+ Experience supporting DoD planning and programming functions or similar analytical roles in a federal or defense environment
+ Strong understanding of Joint and Service-level planning processes, including the Joint Planning Process (JPP), Adaptive Planning and Execution (APEX), and the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing high-quality briefings, white papers, and strategic assessments for executive audiences
Preferred Skills & Experience:
+ Experience supporting DISA, USCYBERCOM, JFHQ-DODIN, or Combatant Command strategic planning functions
+ Familiarity with the Global Command and Control System-Joint (GCCS-J), Joint Planning and Execution Services (JPES), or NetOps tools
+ Background in risk management, operational research, or capability development
